So, it seems Sakramen Merch, from Indonesia, made this shirt, and are selling it on their site. They didn't did ask us first, but who cares -- you go girl!
Loveshackbaby.net reviews us in their Nov 30th, 2009 show with MELT-BANANA coverage...
"I was happy to walk in and hear a local opener, 97-Shiki. Their punk flavor was a happy medium between what I was soon to hear in Triclops! and Melt Banana. For as much screamo as I heard in this band I can honestly say I enjoyed it much more than anyone who knows me would anticipate. Give them a listen here. After hearing Maps & Atlases a few weeks ago, I was primed for making the easy connection to 97-Shiki, there’s a definite mathy element here. Ryan’s vocals are a nice mix of singing/screamo; his energy further enhanced by Douglas’ backup vocals and bass. Patrick on guitar makes a righteous mess of things with counter timing melodies and dissonant chords. And Kammy on drums just sets the whole thing off kilter enough to make it completely unpredictable and therefore beautifully chaotic. Chicago, don’t miss this band the next time they play at the Beat Kitchen on Dec. 12"

It only took us a year, but here on the first anniversary of the tour itself, is the final version. It's about 35 minutes long, and it covers things pretty well. If anyone is interested in learning more about the people who helped us or the bands and promoters, please let us know.

Flamin' Waymon Timbsdayle, King of Reviewland had this to say about our debut 7" in Roctober #47...
"Mathematical hardcore that disassembled my like a Benihana chef does a piece of grilling chicken."
Newcity online published this review on us on September 4th. Thanks Johnny.
Razorcake threw down this review of our record recently...
"Five songs of frantic, choppy art punk from Chicago. The spazzing is held together by an almost funky bass, and right when things feel like they’re about to fly off the handle, they throw in a shout-along or a clutch guitar part to ground you again. Considering that this band proves over and over how they can stop on a dime, the resulting songs are catchier than they have any right to be. I’ve seen this band live a couple of times, and they are even tighter and more powerful in person. If you’re into any of the following bands, there’s something on this little puddle of plastic that you will enjoy: The Ex, The Minutemen, Fugazi, Ornette Coleman, Gang Of Four. –CT Terry (hewhocorruptsinc.com, staticstation.com)"
Thanks CT
LDOMOE says this "Finally, 97-Shiki from Chicago perform Hurts My Head which is a great avant-punk noise thing that is not unlike the Straight As. They are associated with the staticstation co-op up in the Windy City who are releasing a lot of very cool vinyl with awesome and very unique packaging to boot." Thanks.

Juggler Bradley Adita will juggle, vl dogs and popcorn provided. Starts around 8, films at dark.
